Do you find your desk cluttered and stressful by the end of the week, or even the end of the day? Here are some ways to keep your desk organized and functional.

Desk Planner

I know, I know, planners aren't for everybody. I thought planners weren't for me. That was until I found a weekly desk planner!

Looking at an entire month at a time was overwhelming and sometimes confusing for me. Instead I switched to a weekly desk planner so I could compartmentalize my plans one week at a time. I currently use this one from Amazon, but I first found one at Target.

Wireless Keyboard and Mouse

This has been a game changer! Not only can you style up your desk, you can also move around the room with just your keyboard or mouse to control your screen. If you have an HDMI hook up, I'd argue that this is a must!

Writing Utensil Station

As a teacher, you can never have enough pens, markers, and pencils. Having a desk pencil holder can save a lot of space and a lot of pens. Just make sure to remember to put your writing utensil back in its station so you don't lose it.

Wrist Cushions

I just added these this year, and it has helped my wrists so much during grading. I would always get lines on my wrists from the edge of the desk digging into them. Now, I can comfortably type.

Your Personal Vibe

One thing I have found with teaching is that you need to have a little your vibe sprinkled everywhere. Your desk is your primary space for planning, grading, and some days teaching (we all have those days). Make this space your own. We encourage the kids to take ownership over their work. Now it's time for you do do the same with your desk!

I hope these tips can help you arrange your desk in a way that brings just a little bit of joy.
